Gray's Papaya

We can't live in New York and not eat a hot dog every now and then. We didn't feel quite brave enough to try one from the many, many carts that line the streets of Manhattan, so we headed to the iconic hot dog store, Gray's Papaya, instead.

This store has many claims to fame: it made fleeting appearances in You've Got Mail and Sex & The City, and it stays open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Impressive, right? And the $2.50 hot dogs are pretty impressive too. A warmed bun (with just the right amount of crisp on the outside), and a frank which is actually made of meat, and then any of the toppings you want, with ketchup and mustard on the side to add yourself. Get yourself one of the suspiciously sweet papaya drinks to counteract the salty dog, and you'll feel like a true New Yorker.
